Christine Guay, CMP®, Past President

Christine serves as Communications Coordinator for the City of Ottawa, where she manages the work of a graphic design team, develops marketing plans, and executes a variety of communication strategies for the Recreation, Culture and Facility Services department. With almost 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Christine has worked across municipalities, sector councils, non-profits and health-related organizations.

She is deeply committed to continuous learning, fostering strong inter-departmental and client relationships, promoting accessible and inclusive design, and championing collaborative teamwork. Among her proudest achievements are leading branding exercises, redesigning websites, launching social media channels, leading events with thousands of attendees, and establishing communication roles, policies and procedures. She has also managed the production of a video series that has garnered over seven million views and was featured in film festivals.

Outside of her professional role, Christine enjoys expressing her creativity through a small business where she designs and creates Canadian-inspired accessories and home décor. She was also a volunteer of the Scottish Society of Ottawa, serving as Communications Director and coordinator of Hogman-eh!. These roles allowed her to combine her family’s Scottish connection, as well as celebrate her husband’s family history, her passion for communications, and creating meaningful community experiences.
