Looking for a volunteer interested in membership, community building and growth to help strengthen the member experience, support recruitment and retention, and identify opportunities to grow our IABC Ottawa community.

Director, Digital Communications

Looking for a digital communications volunteer to support IABC Ottawa’s online communications, content and digital presence.

Director, Sponsorship & External Communications

Looking for a volunteer interested in partnerships, sponsorship and relationship building to help identify opportunities, support outreach and strengthen IABC Ottawa’s external relationships.

Director, Volunteers and Membership Engagement

Looking for a volunteer who enjoys connecting with people and building community to help welcome, engage and support IABC Ottawa volunteers and members.

Director, Special Projects

• Gift of Communications: Help organize our half-day Gift of Communications event in early December, where communications professionals donate their expertise to help local nonprofits solve communications challenges. We are looking for support with nonprofit coordination, recruiting communications professionals, event logistics and sponsorship liaison. Planning is beginning now.

• Mentor-Mentee Program: Looking for a volunteer about professional development and community building to help coordinate our mentor-mentee program, including participant outreach, matching and program support.

• Podcast: Looking for a volunteer interested in storytelling, podcasting and communications to help coordinate and grow The Voice, IABC Ottawa’s podcast, including editing and production support.

• ·50th Anniversary Gala: Join the team helping bring IABC Ottawa’s 50th Anniversary Gala to life. We’re looking for volunteers to support event planning, programming, logistics, guest experience and other activities leading up to this milestone celebration.

IABC Ottawa is seeking Expressions of Interest for the following positions:

President-Elect

This strategic leadership role is suited for an experienced communications, marketing or business professional (approximately 8–10+ years of experience) who is interested in helping shape the future direction of IABC Ottawa. The President-Elect works closely with the President and Board to support chapter growth, member engagement, partnerships and long-term planning, while preparing for future chapter leadership.

Co-VP, Sponsorship and External Relations

This role is designed to help grow IABC Ottawa financially and externally by leading sponsorship outreach, building relationships with organizations across Ottawa and strengthening how we share the value of our chapter. The goal is to bring financial support into the chapter so we can deliver better programming, strengthen member experience and build a more sustainable future for IABC Ottawa.

We also welcome expressions of interest from members who would like to contribute as Directors or volunteers in support of these portfolios. This is a great opportunity to expand your network, contribute to the profession and gain hands-on leadership experience within the IABC community.
