IABC Ottawa is a fun, non-profit organization run by volunteer leaders. We offer career development opportunities to help you learn and connect. These include professional development events, networking events, special interest groups for members, Jobline, The Voice podcast, volunteer opportunities and more.
IIABC Ottawa is currently preparing its Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 season (July 2026 to June 2027). As part of this process, we will be presenting a proposed slate of candidates for member approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following Board positions:
President-Elect
This strategic leadership role is suited for an experienced communications, marketing or business professional (approximately 8–10+ years of experience) who is interested in helping shape the future direction of IABC Ottawa. The President-Elect works closely with the President and Board to support chapter growth, member engagement, partnerships and long-term planning, while preparing for future chapter leadership.
Co-VP, Finance and Sponsorship
This role supports sponsorship outreach, member growth initiatives and financial stewardship for the chapter. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Board on partnerships, revenue generation and budgeting. Experience in sponsorship outreach, partnerships or business development is considered an asset.
In addition to these roles, we are also building out the full Board structure, including Vice President and Director-level positions across key portfolios such as communications and digital strategy, professional development, membership growth, sponsorship, volunteer engagement and member experience. The proposed structure also includes two Executive Secretary roles to support coordination across the executive team and the board.
We also welcome expressions of interest from members who would like to contribute as Directors or volunteers in support of these portfolios. This is a great opportunity to expand your network, contribute to the profession and gain hands-on leadership experience within the IABC community.
All Board positions are subject to nomination and election by the membership at the AGM.
