Celebrating Our 2025 Communicator of the Year: Sam Laprade

Each year, IABC Ottawa honours a communications professional who demonstrates outstanding leadership, impact, and contribution to the field. At this year’s Annual General Meeting, we were proud to present the 2025 Communicator of the Year Award to Sam Laprade—broadcaster, fundraiser, author, and passionate advocate for community impact.

From hosting An Hour to Give to co-authoring Ottawa Made, Sam’s work reflects a deep commitment to purpose-driven storytelling and philanthropy. With more than 35 years of experience, she has built a career rooted in passion, purpose, and connection—amplifying voices, supporting charitable organizations, and inspiring action across the national capital region.

We were honoured to have Sam join us as the keynote speaker at our 2025 AGM, where she shared her insights and stories with warmth, authenticity, and generosity—hallmarks of her communication style.
